A Journey Along the Ruta del Añil
This dark roast from Finca Miravailles pushes the Bourbon into heavier territory. The washed processing provides a stable base for the dark chocolate and molasses to build on without turning ashy or bitter. Toasted nuts round out the finish and give it weight. It's a full-bodied cup that rewards you for drinking it slow.
The Ruta del Añil traces through the towns that built their economies on indigo production during the colonial era. Añil, the deep blue dye extracted from local plants, was one of El Salvador's most valuable exports for centuries before coffee took over. The trade routes that carried indigo to port eventually carried coffee instead, and many of the same families and farms made that transition. This roast is named for that history.
Brewing suggestions: Drip or French press suit this roast well. It also pulls a solid espresso shot if you're making lattes or cappuccinos.

My husband LOVES this coffee, and I love the customer service this company provides. I'm not a coffee drinking so I can't comment on the how good it is. I first bought this coffee for my husband as a fun little 'I love you' surprise because I know how much he likes coffee and trying different kinds, especially dark roast. I have since signed up for the monthly subscription because he likes it so much, and he is like a little kid at Christmas when he is waiting for the next months delivery. lol As a non-coffee drinking, I will say it does smell really good when he makes a pot of coffee.
Excellent coffee on both of them I like the Peru the best
